Changing Your Phone Service?

If your security system is currently monitored through a standard landline phone and you are thinking of changing to a bundled service(phone, cable, internet), or eliminating your landline altogether, there are some issues you need to consider.

While your system may be able to send its alarm signals through a bundled provider’s service, any interruption of that service prevents signals from reaching the central station, thus compromising a response to alarms at your business or home.  Yes, your landline phone service can “go down” also, but in my experience a plain old telephone line is much more stable and reliable.

Fully understanding that bundled services are indeed more economical, there is an  alternative monitoring method. The addition of a GSM/Cellular Communication unit does not require the existence of any type of phone service to communicate alarm signals to the central station. And for those who wish to totally eliminate any landline this is your only choice for sucessful communication between your alarm panel and the monitoring service.

Please contact me to discuss your monitoring options before you make a change. The accurate communication of your security system’s alarm information to the central station is a priority.
